My venture into the world of computing starts in the most common way, I was a gamer. From the time that I could use a controller and keyboard I was delving into the world of gaming. I realized at the age of 16 years old that gaming was not helping me reach any of my goals. I wrote my first couple lines of code that year, at the time it seemed like math. That was the start of a four year long journey of dabbling in anything that took my fancy. During this time I kept finding myself returning to code, I knew there was something there that I wasn't seeing.

The journey of discovery coalesced in November of 2020 when I found myself deep down the rabit hole of computer science and yet my day job was still not bringing me in the direction I wanted to go. I started working part time. From that day on I worked 3 days a week and studied the other five. I still didnt know what it was that I was looking for, and it was still a maze full of dead ends. Non the less it felt like the right direction.

This track brought to learn the basics of Information Technology and allowed me to land the first job I can say I have found fulfillment. This was an IT job, which allowed for flexibility in approaching a problem and creativity in solving the problems. Everything became a problem to solve and by the wisdom of my boss/mentor there was time and appreciation for creativity. Then came a stroke of luck in the form a new government standard for quarterly income reporting.

The problem was thrown to me and I decided to make the gamble of seeing if I could put some of my knowledge of programming into practice. So feeling very uncertain I approach the boss to clear the idea, I didnt have a product at the time (my first mistake), and I was given some advise on time management and what the role of an IT personnel is. This was not a no. I then created the Excel Payroll Format. It was a part time job so I was able to get more hours by working on this project and still get my IT related work done. It was during this project that I was able to appreciate the power of programming. I was hooked on the possiblities of bringing more of my thoughts into reality, or at least onto a screen. Soon after I was enlisted to create two other programs.

This newest epiphony brought me to yet another precipous of decision. Sure I wanted to start programming but what did that even mean. A quick google search later my face was buried in my hands, architect, engineer, developer, frontend, backend. Not to mention all the languages.

The next few months were dedicated to understanding what it was that I was pursuing. It did not seem like much of a possibility that one day I would be write code for a living. Then I came across an article that said, everyone should have a website. So here is that website and with this I have true product to display to the world and a way to showcase my work as I progress.

Step By Step lebs. Enjoy.
